Re:Saturday Training Run 2 Years, 8 Months ago
1st Satuday training run update.

We met as planned at Anniesland at 9.30 and after a short discussion on how the run should go we set off shortly after. There were 8 in total which was a good number for the first week. Everyone worked well and we soon settled into a nice tempo keeping it together all the way to the top of Sinclair St (Helensburgh). Here we stopped for a quick toilet stop and to check everyone was ok. From there we headed back in and from Cameron brae there was a bit of pressure put on at the front. And there was a certain buzz about the group. 6 stopped at the Golf range for a coffe and 2 headed straight back. At the stop it was agreed that the route, pace and general setup for future rides were good, There is already a team spirit there and the plan is to build on this by entering the braveheart ride in October and riding it as a group. It was agreed to keep things as they were today for the next 4 weeks then maybe try some new stuff. As said before this ride is for all who want to start improving fitness and anyone is welcome, but please be aware there is a plan here and it is team/group targeted.

Thanks to everyone who turned out today and hope to see some new faces over the next few weeks.

Well done for taking the lead on this Scott. I'd have been there today, but had my theory test at half nine (passed )

I'll be there next Satuday.

Really enjoyed the first run today and after my sept weekend break will be back to join the bunch a week on saturday. Meantime intend to enter braveheart run as part of a team. More the better.
The coffee stop at the end is good so that you can share ideas / targets / tips and scones.
Thanks to Scott for starting this off and the rest of u guys for the enthusiasm and support.
AWRIGHT EDZO !!

I wish I could take all the credit for this but it's something me Edzo and others have been talking about since last year and tried to get off the ground eary this year. And lets face it it's only as successfull as those who attend make it. Cheers Ed!!

not much to add to the above. a magic ride. for me the most satisfying bits were the group mentality (there is some thing magic about a group working together ) on the day and more importantly the groups agreement to continue working as a group to develop our fitness over the winter. a real wee buzz today, long may it continue.

brave hearet application done,ta for the idea david and the link to make ift easy.
