I'll be there this Saturday (18th). I'm assuming that it is Anniesland Cross for 9.30am (and not the Kirkhouse)? Also, I don't know the route Scott mentioned - any chance of posting a route map so we can have a look at it beforehand?

Cheers,
Marco

I will be at Anniesland on Saturday and spoke to Edzo today and he has confirmed attendance so looks like we will have at least 5.

To set the scene for the start of these training rides they will be around 2 - 2.5 hrs in legnth. The rides will be a steady pace, but nobody will be dropped as this is a "TEAM" training ride. The aim of the first 4 weeks should be to build fitness and improve group riding skills.

The reason for this is when training and racing it is apparent that group skills can always be improved. These include being able to sit on a wheel, finding the best position to get the most shelter, riding smooth "take the bike with you" when you get out the saddle. How to work as an idividual in a group (through and off). And I'm sure many of the old hands can add more to this.

I dont claim to be an expert just willing to try and get something going with a team spirit. On this note there is a coffee shop at the Golf range on the way back in tommorrow at Drumchapel, so can I suggest anybody who can stops off for a coffee and a chat about what each person would like to get out of these sessions? I may not have the answers but I will try my best to find them.

There may be people out there that dont want to enter road races or Apr's however this could be the place to find a partner to organise a 2up TT with for next season or a wee team TT. Edzo and I did a 2up this year and we didnt set any records but I had a great time,no aero helmets or disc wheels (thats where we went wrong Ed) . Just some food for thought, have something to aim for it keeps you going through the winter!

Anyway I have attached a map of the intended route I hope it works as its the first one I have done.

thanks for you generous comments on the 2 up we did Scott. ( i say we in the loosest possible sense as it was scott at the front and ed with his tongue rubbing on the front tyre ( still got the friction burns). I'm sure posh wheels and helemets would have made a difference in that i would have looked even more like a dumpling.
