The Emperor,

After much debate it has been decided that there is going to be saturday training rides through the winter starting at the kirkhouse following the same route round the lake meeting at 9.30am. Anybody can attend .
There seams to be to many people doing there own thing ?
We are a club ! so lets start meeting up and training like a club! good to get some steady winter miles in the legs and get ready for a new season start date to be 11th of september be there and support your club and see if we can get some good numbers. Scott

Hi Scott,

Regards a training run this week I wont make it as I have wedding to go to although there does not seem to have been much response. I dont know if your plan is to do the Lake run but I was out round that way on Sunday and there is a sign up at the port side to say the road would be closed from 6/9/10 for one week so dont know if that is just til friday or next monday. Looks like a fair bit of re-surfacing going by the markings on the road, That is the first time I have been out that way for a while and had forgotten how bad the roads are the main Aberfoyle Rd has some real rough sections and a fair bit of the Lake Rd will still be rough after the work I would say. How about a meet at Anniesland on a Saturday and do the Anniesland run but just up Sinclair St? I know its a busier Rd but much better surface or out over Erskine Bridge and pick up the Renfrew bunch route? Either that or I'm gonna have to dig out the Full suspension mountain bike and keep the knoblies on !!

The Boy,

Good to have the saturday runs back although i think its still a little early as there is still racing to be done, maybe after the hillclimb is a good time to start? It's not the same suffering round there when the weather is fine,it's got to be miserable you know!

Hi all,

Above is a conversation from the old site (time to change over).
Anyway can people put there views forward. I'm looking for steady base miles as a group not a high intensity workout out at this stage. The guys that are still racing knock yer socks off! At this stage its to help build fitness of people who struggled at the start of this year with the lake run. So lets here who is interested .

Count me in, but not this weekend, I'll be at Alton Towers. And the weekend after is Rothesay. But I'll be there more often than not.

I'm also interested in a Saturday training run. Won't make it this weekend though, as I'll be away.

Looks like this weekend is not a great week to start from the response. No one has said anything about the start point and route, so can I suggest meeting point Anniesland cross on Saturday 18/9/10 @ 9.30? And first run out to Helensburgh over Sinclair st should be around 45 miles at a steady pace keeping the group together?
