(These rules should be read in conjunction with the information given in the Forum Help Page)

The following rules govern the Forum.  Please read carefully before participating.  Your use of the Forum will constitute your agreement to comply with these rules:

Mandatory

1. Members are requested to remember that this is a public forum and to conduct themselves accordingly. If personal issues arise they should be dealt with off-forum but, if necessary, the Forum administrator, Admin, or the Moderator for the Category in question may be contacted by Private Message.
   
   
2. Posting offensive material will lead to the post(s) being deleted and the offending user being warned and/or banned from the Forum.  Offensive material may be such as is offensive to individual members or to members in general or to the public.  Offensive User Names or Signatures will be treated similarly.
   
   
3. User Registration is enabled.  This allows non-members who register on the site to post on the Forum.  The facility is intended, in particular, for prospective or past members to contact the Club in a convenient and easy manner but may be used by anyone who has something to say that may be of interest to the membership.  If it is found that this leads to inappropriate postings being made then the facility may well be withdrawn or an offender may be banned from posting.
   
   
4. This Forum is moderated.  Moderators’ decisions will be taken with a view to ensuring that the forum is conducted in a seemly manner as prescribed above.  Moderators may issue warnings, move posts between Categories or delete posts.  Any decision may be appealed to the Forum Administrator and/or, in extreme cases, to the Club Committee.
   
   
5. Where circumstances warrant it, permanent bans will be implemented by the Website Administrator.
   
   
6. Unsolicited commercial postings will be removed immediately and the associated User Registration deleted.
   
   
7. Private Messages will be subject to the same conditions as normal postings.

Advisory

1. Use emoticons sparingly.  Over-indulgence reduces their effect.

2. Don’t shout (use excessive capitalisation). Again, over-indulgence reduces it’s effect.

3. In the interests of usability make topic names specific to the subject matter rather than general.

4. Read the Category descriptions and post in the appropriate Category.  This will make the Forum much more useable for everyone.

5. Signatures.  The maximum length allowed for a user signature is 300 characters.

6. Avatars may be uploaded in the following sizes: 50 x 50, 100 x 100 and 250 x 250.  All measurements in pixels.  The maximum size of an avatar image is 2048kb

7. There is no limit to the number of characters in a post.  However, posts should be as concise and relevant as possible.  Needlessly long posts are unlikely to be read in full and are self-defeating.
